Distil Networks is set up through a simple DNS settings change. Once your account is activated and the change is made, your traffic is routed through Distil’s global network of high-powered servers. Incoming traffic is intelligently profiled in real-time. Meanwhile outgoing traffic is accelerated and optimized for faster load times.
The Distil Content Protection Network has servers geographically dispersed throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Users to your site will be routed through a Distil server closest to them. With added features like content caching and compression, your website will likely load faster than it does today.
You have two options for SSL certificates with Distil. The first is a shared certificate that is assigned to Distil Networks but resolves for your domain. Under Distil’s Universal Communications Certificate (UCC), your SSL will resolve normally with a 256-bit encrypted certificate. The only difference is that the certificate authority lists not just your domain, but a bundle of domains on the certificate. Distil also allows customers to have their own dedicated certificates across the platform. The dedicated certificates can either be uploaded by the customer or provided by Distil.
